Edo State Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, on Modnay dissolved the 18 local governments in the state and froze their accounts.
In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Pally Iriase, said, “I am directed to inform the general public that in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Law 2000 as amended, the Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, has dissolved the 18 local government in Edo State.
“Following the dissolution, the former chairmen of the local government Councils are hereby directed to hand over to the heads of local government administration in the respective local government areas immediately.
“Furthermore, the bank accounts of the local governments are hereby frozen until further notice.”
