GSK re-brands Macleans

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc has re-branded Macleans, its iconic toothpaste.

The Marketing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer, Ms. Hannah Oyebanjo, on Wednesday in Lagos, expressed the company’s commitment to making sure there was no vacuum in making the best toothpaste the best in the market.

She said this during the re-inauguration of Macleans Herbal and Macleans Complete Care, which now come in new attractive holographic packs.

According to her, “The first position could be given to any brand, but it is all for the benefit of consumers, but our brand has always retained its good name and we are committed to good oral hygiene in Nigeria.

“People still call for Macleans all the time, even when the brand was out of market for some time before it came back.”

According to the company’s Export Marketing Manager, Ms. Chinyere Chima, “The two variants re-inaugurated today are endorsed by the Nigeria Dental Association because we have quality toothpastes that have adequate fluoride in line with the NDA recommendations.”

She, however, disclosed that the company had collaborated with healthcare professionals and had joined the NDA to support dentists to provide platforms for oral health education via Community Dental Health Education programmes in schools, communities and markets.
