Nigerians in US assist cholera victims
A group of Nigerians abroad the under the aegis of Nigerian Global Diaspora Forum, has supplied medical aids to Nigeria to combat cholera outbreak in the country in recent years, Empowered Newswire reports.

In a statement at the weekend, a UN agency reported that “Nigeria is in the midst of its worst cholera outbreak in recent years, with nearly 40,000 cases and more than 1,500 deaths reported since the start of the year.”

But in a concerted effort by Nigerians in Diaspora to provide succour to the victims back home, the NGDF said it sent the medical aid which included antibiotics and other items.

According to a statement by the NGDF, New York, on Monday, the medical supplies “are designated for victims of cholera outbreak in Nigeria under the Nigerian Diaspora Cholera Relief Initiative.”

Besides, the statement disclosed that the US-based Nigerian Pharmacists Association of Tampa, Florida, made the donation of antibiotics which are part of the relief medications package possible.
