Cesc Fabregas  mocks City

Cesc Fabregas claims that Arsenal would have beaten Manchester City even if the Eastlands club had 15 players on Sunday.

Roberto Mancini‘s much fancied title-chasers were a man down after just five minutes when defender Dedryck Boyata was given his marching orders for a cynical foul on Marouane Chamakh.

And the Gunners took full advantage by romping to a comfortable 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner.

Now the Spanish World Cup winner warns ‘team spirit cannot be bought’, telling Sky Sports, ”Even if they were 15 and we were 11 we would still have gone on and won.

”We always want to go forward and create chances but the way we played, we were very difficult to stop. I think we were fantastic.

”I think we played some outstanding football at times and it‘s difficult to stop a side when they play at that tempo at that level.”

Without a trophy since 2005, Fabregas believes Arsenal‘s win will serve as a warning to Carlo Ancelotti‘s Chelsea who are currently five points ahead of their North London rivals.

He added,”It‘s too early to talk about favourites or not.

”Chelsea are looking very strong but still have to play a lot of the big teams. We will see how they do against them but we have to keep calm.”
