THE agitation of federal pensioners over the non-payment of their harmonised pensioned arrears has been settled as the Head of Service of the Federation, Stephen Oronsaye has approved the payment in line with the approved rates this week
Oronsaye directed that all pensioners under the purview of his office, whose biometrics have been captured and their claims verified, would be paid arrears of the harmonized pension in line with approved rates of six per cent and 15 per cent for 2003 and 2007 respectively. The payments, he said, should be made by tomorrow.
According to a statement by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Tope Ajakaiye, the head of Service also confirmed that his office had identified and addressed the major reason why some pensioners, whose biometrics were captured and verified during the June 2010 exercise, have not been paid after the exercise.
