Eagles: Odegbami calls for patience with Siasia

Former Green Eagles captain, Chief Segun Odegbami has said that  Samson Siasia’s appointment as the chief coach of the Super Eagles will bring back the lost glory of the national team if he is given the free hand to work.
Odegbami in an interview with Sunday Vanguard sports said that Siasia deserves the job because he has been on ground and knows what the country’s football was passing through and the solution to check the problem if  he gets the support he needs.
“Siasia’s appointment is fantastic. We have advocated it for the past two years now and finally it is happening ,that shows that it is God’s time. His appointment as the new Super Eagles coach will definitely bring a re-birth which is a turn around for our football,” he said
Odegbami added that Nigerians have no choice but to exercise some patience before the Eagles regain their past glory as Siasia is not a magician.
“We have no choice, we have to have patience. Samson Siasia is not a magician, he has to build a new team and it will take some time ,but within the next few months, the Eagles will wake up from their slumber and we will start to see the change,” he assured.
The ex-NFA board member also described his appointment to the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Association as a big joke, pointing out that what he wants to see was a total change in Nigeria’s way of administering football.
