A.P. Leventis: The Man Who Loves Nigeria, Its People, Its Forests

THE renowned businessman, environmentalist, conservation expert and philanthropist, A. P Leventis, was the Head of the Scientific Committee of the Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF) in early 1980s. A Greek Cypriot, who now resides in London but frequents Nigeria to mentor many Nigerian students, conservationists and businessmen, Leventis loves Nigeria and Ghana, his birthplace very much.  Although he has been presiding over the vast business empire of the Leventis Group in West Africa and other parts of the world, Leventis who is passionate about the biological diversity of Nigeria, and that of the world, has been involved in the creation of many National Parks in Nigeria. A.P. as he is fondly called, is a well focused and astute businessman.

A scholar with sharp intellect, Leventis is a keen bird watcher, who always arm himself with very sophisticated and expensive cameras and binoculars in his quest to track birds and large mammals all over Africa, Latin America and Europe.
