HE was born like every other kid. He cried when he needed to and was spanked by brothers and uncles, just the normal way a young lad would be treated. But right from the time he was young, Aliyu Dangote made a determination to be different. He was exceptionally intelligent, diligent and was committed to excellence.
He vowed to contribute his quota positively to the development of his country and make a significant positive statement in his continent. He had a dream, but he didn’t know that what God has in stock for him was far above where he thought he could ever get to in life. From modest beginning in the late 1970s, he has today built a multi-billion naira conglomerate.

Within three decades in the business of trading and manufacturing, Aliko has grown to become an icon of his time, steadfastly sowing and paying his dues, remaining focused, constantly cultivating, patiently ploughing the fields of opportunity and moving diligently from one remarkable achievement to the next.
Dangote is a man who approaches life with the gracious simplicity and gusto only the eagle can muster. He is indeed, according to many of those close to him, an epitome of humility.
Dangote has many things going for him: the right family pedigree, hard work, foresight and the resources to be a great leader. Despite his riches and influence in the corridors of power, he is acclaimed to be the most humble of all the richest men in Africa. He treats everybody he comes across with utmost dignity and respect. This attitude, people close to him said, is innate and his greatest strength, aside God.
