OKEY Ezea, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Enugu, speaks on the raging crisis in the state chapter of the party, following the recent dissolution of the state executive.
What led to the current crisis in PDP in Enugu State?
It has been there and in court since between the two factions in the state. The truth of the matter is that has been two factions since 2008 when the state congress was held.
One was loyal to former governor, now Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, which had its own congress at Macdavos Hotel and which was observed and upheld by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and officials from the national headquarters of the party. They claimed they are the authentic executives of the party in the state, having followed the laid down rules in conducting the congress.
Another group, led by Vita Abba, which was loyal to Governor Sullivan Chime, emerged and claimed to be the authentic executive in the state.
