Second Term Bid: Ohakim Harps On Political Equity

THE much-publicised declaration of Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim took place yesterday in Owerri, amid lavish ceremonies.
    The governor, gunning for a second term in office next year, said:
  “I, Ikedi Godson Ohakim, your governor, hereby declare to you all, the good people of Imo State, brothers and sisters, friends and well wishes all over the world that I shall contest the 2011 governorship election for Imo State.”
  Describing himself as someone who had been tried and tested, Ohakim asked the people of the state to avail him the opportunity to govern them for another four years, to enable him complete the various developmental programmes of his administration.
