Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has appealed to striking doctors and health workers in the state to go back to work and continue negotiations with the government.
The state Chairman of the ACN, Chief Henry Ajomale, made the appeal in Lagos on Friday.
Ajomale urged them to adhere to the tenets of the profession which placed premium on human lives.
“Please, go back to work so that negotiation with the government can continue. The people of Lagos are tired.
“We believe if they go back to work, there can be mutual understanding between them and the state government,” he said.
He denied insinuations that the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was behind the strike.
“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, one of the great party leaders, has done enough to bring the strike to an end. The strike does not have anything to do with him.
“It is not true that he is behind the strike. He has met with the striking workers more than three times for them to go back to work,” he added.
