Ekeng and Najite used to be the top stars in the ongoing Glo Naija Sings. In fact, to many people, one of them would be the winner of the show when it eventually comes to an end.
But the two singers were kicked out of the show last week and it was indeed an unbelievable experience for many fans of the contestants. Their exit was filled with so much drama. Anchor of the event, Olisa Adibua, identified Boma, Ekeng and Najite as the last three among the seven contestants. He then proceeded by asking Boma to read what was in the (result) envelope.
Many fans had thought that Boma was on her way out and was just going to read that out to the audience. Alas, she was saved. Both Ekeng and Najite were sent home by their supporters, who failed to back them with enough votes to keep them in the show.
In a matter of minutes, the duo changed status from being contestants to being part of the spectators. But before then, Ekeng had told the world to wait for him to explode soon when he would have released a single next year. Najite gave a similar promise. She said her story would not end just like that.
Now, only Peace, Boma, Rasine, Da Brodas and Casey will fight for the viewers’ votes for the $100,000 and the brand new RAV 4 added by Globacom as an icing on the cake for the winner.
