There was anxiety on Monday over the health of an elder statesman, Chief Anthony Enahoro.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Benin, Edo State.
A family source, who asked not to be named, said the 87-year-old foremost nationalist, had difficulty with breathing on Monday morning.
The source did not give further details but as the news of his (Enahoro’s) admission spread, some people speculated that he had passed on.
But UBTH sources and an Edo State Government House official dismissed the rumour, saying Enahoro was alive.
