The Federal Executive Council is expected to ratify the contracts for the supply of Direct Data Capture Machines to the Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday.

Presidency sources, who declined to be named, confirmed to THE PUNCH on Sunday in Abuja that President Goodluck Jonathan’s memo on the matter had been circulated to all FEC members for scrutiny.

INEC said on Sunday that it had signed the contracts for the supply of 132,000 units of the DDCMs for the forthcoming registration of voters.

The contracts were awarded to three firms - Zinox Technologies Limited, Messrs Haier Electrical Appliances Corp Limited and Avante International Technology Inc.

According to the terms of the contract, the materials will be supplied within 35 days, just as the contracts were valued at $230m or N33.827bn, based on N147 to $1 rate.
