Siasia praises Osaze, warns Yobo
AS West Brom’s Osaze Odemwingie continues to thump in goals to get the plaudits of national coach Samson Siasia, Eagles Skipper Joseph Yobo has been warned to double up his performance in his club to avoid a double calamity in the new brand Super Eagles
Siasia said yesterday that he was overwhelmed with the performance of Ozaze who has scored six goals in his new club in the Premier League despite being sidelined by injury for sometime.
“I’m overwhelmed by the sparkling performance of Osaze. This is exactly what I want other players who wish to join the new train of the Eagles to do”, Siasia said.
While he was full of praise for the former Locomotive of Moscow star whose brace at the weekend downed Newcastle 3-1 and sent coach Chris Hughton to the guillotine, Siasia however warned Yobo that it was up to him to retain the Eagles skip
Yobo last played for Everton before moving over to Fenabache. “It’s up to him to redouble his efforts and maintain his position and leadership of the team or lose out”, Siasia said.
Sports Vanguard gathered that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, may have back-pedaled on picking Siasia’s assistant coaches to give him a free hand at picking them.
A top NFF source informed that they have asked Siasia to nominate the coaches and send to them for ratification.
“We’ve asked him to give us names of more than two coaches. We want him to partake in the selection of his assistants. It’s better than imposing strange fellows on him”, the source said.
