Peter Odemwingie is yet to shake off a knock and is expected to miss West Brom’s meeting with Wolves as a result.
The Nigerian forward continues to nurse a calf injury and is unlikely to be risked in Sunday’s derby date at The Hawthorns.
The problem forced him to sit out Saturday’s 2_1 defeat to Aston Villa and it is felt that he is
still not ready for a return.
Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo has stopped short of completely ruling out his six_goal top scorer for the home date with Wolves, but admits there is little chance of him featuring this weekend.
He told the club’s official website: “Peter’s still doubtful. He’s still injured and hasn’t trained yet this week.
“It is a little calf strain that is causing the problem and I’m not very hopeful on him at the moment.
“If Peter’s not back for this game, he’ll hopefully be back for the next one (against Bolton on Boxing Day).”
