Ogbeche scores, Emenike injured
Bartholomew Ogbeche
Former Super Eagles striker Bartholomew Ogbeche hit target on Saturday as Kavala were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Atromitos in the Greek Super Liga.
The former PSG of France forward put Kavala ahead in the 52nd minute and the home side looked like they were coasting to a win until Atromitos equalised on the stroke of full time.
But it was not a sweet tale for Nigeria‘s best striker in Europe at the moment, Emmanuel Emenike, who was rushed to the hospital on Friday night as Karabukspor lost 3-0 to league leaders Trabzonspor.
The 23-year-old got injured early in the game, but continued playing until the 34th minute, when he signalled the bench to substitute him. However, Karabükspor have reportedly denied that the former Cape Town striker was injured despite checks revealed that the player had broken his wrist.
Emenike has scored 12 goals in 17 games this season and is attracting interests from clubs in Spain, France, Turkey, Russia and Qatar.
Nigerian-born Israel international Toto Tamuz Temile hit target in Israel‘s topflight as Hapoel Tel Aviv walloped visiting Hapoel Ramat Gan 4-0. Temile, son of ex-international Clement Temile, scored his side‘s third goal in the 59th minute.
In South Africa, 23-year-old former Enyimba striker Ezenwa Otorogu scored the opening goal as Orlando Pirates beat perennial rivals Moroka Swallows 2-0 in the Absa Premier League on Saturday.
The Nigerian lashed on to a poor header from Swallows‘ defender Roger Da Costa before slotting home past compatriot Greg Etafia- in goal for Swallows-to put the Bucs 1-0 up.
