It bubbles in Redemption Camp as 13th Holy Ghost Congress begins

ACTIVITIES marking this year’s Holy Ghost Congress, an annual spiritual retreat of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, started yesterday with millions of people from different parts of the country who have started arriving since Sunday taking part.

Millions of souls from across the globe are expected to converge on the Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for the 13th Holy Ghost Congress.
As early as Sunday evening people from different parts of the country had begun to arrive the sprawling Redemption Camp for the weeklong fiesta. The theme of the programme is: ‘All Will Be Well.’
Men, women, young and old, some carrying heavy luggages containing their their basic essentials that would last them for the period of the programme were trooping in to the Camp as early as Sunday evening.
The weak, the lame, the blind, the sick, the healthy, the rich, the poor, in their thousands, are expected to flood the intimidating 155,520 square metre behemoth known as the ‘Arena’, which was constructed in 2006.
The opening session last night started with praise and worship with very excited worshippers  singing and dancing to the melodious music from the altar, while some others were busy praying.
That session was followed by the opening prayer proper which actually ushered in the main event of the day which was the first talk titled, ‘His Word is settled’.
Shortly after the talk there was announcement which was followed by a thanksgiving service for all the past 12 Congresses.
The G.O. had assured all participants that the current Congress with a theme, ‘All Will Be Well’ is a very special one and had therefore urged every participant to believe the Lord and trust in His word.
The second message for the day was titled; ‘His name is Jesus’ and without any doubt, the name is “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come;”
The church has made adequate arrangement for traffic control, sanitation, water and uninterupted electricty supply.
