Supporters Club’s President General, Dr Rauf Oladipo, has sensationally urged Super Eagles new coach, Samson Siasia, to be up and doing towards justifying the confidence reposed in him by Nigerian football buffs.
Ladipo, who was in Abuja last week when the Eagles new strategist was unveiled, charged Siasia to live up to his responsibilities by forming a formidable team, capable of winning outstanding laurels in Africa and the world.
According to Dr Ladipo, Siasia now has the chance to prove doubters wrong about his abilities to turn around the fortunes of Nigerian football. "We know Siasia as a coach who loves the youths. He can go for many young players scattered across the world to build a new team.
He has got the foundation with his involvement in the previous Under-20 and Under-23 teams. He can easily
put himself together to get the best result,"he said. Dr Ladipo also warned Siasia not to be distracted by anything, saying that he should completely focus on the mission ahead of him and make the nation proud once again.
"For him to be successful, he should not allow bench warmers in his team. He should always go for the best legs. Siasia should not allow sentiment to ruin his team. The cheering leader said the new tactician should instil discipline in the team in the process of raising physically and mentally sound players for Eagles.
"Siasia is a no nonsense coach and I believe he would never give any stubbon player a chance to ruin his team. We, in the supporters club, have been following his achievements and we are proud to be associated with him in all his endeavours. We used this medium to pledge our total support for him. He is a coach after our hearts,"he said.
"A coach is a motivator and an innovator. His goal is to take a team to the next level. I know Siasia has all the qualities to move Eagles up again,"Ladipo added. "Siasia has foresight and can plan ahead. He is more organized and effective on his job.
"Siasia must be unwavering. Once he takes a decision, he must stick with it, or else the team will not take his advice seriously. He must never display insecurity or uncertainty about the calls that he is making on behalf of the team,"he said.
