Jonathan: M’Belt youths back leaders

President Goodluck Jonathan

The endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan by political leaders of the North-Central zone has further received the blessing of the Middle Belt Youth Forum.

A statement issued in Abuja by the forum and signed by its President, Jonathan Ishaku, noted that the people of the zone had accepted the Jonathan/Sambo ticket as the rightful choice for the 2011 elections.

The forum also came criticised leading northern politician, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, for castigating the North-Central political leaders for their decision to endorse the ticket.

According to the forum, Kwande lacks the locus standi to question the decision of the political leaders, saying he cannot boast of winning a ward or local government election.

Ishaku added “We the members of the forum unequivocally commend the purposeful and generally accepted endorsement of Dr. Jonathan by the majority of North Central Governors.

“We want to state that an endorsement of two-thirds of the North-Central governors for Jonathan is a clear indication that other aspirants within the zone should not bother to contest.
